Lend Lease restarts Green Quarter flats

Developer Lend Lease has resumed work on an apartment block in Manchester's Green Quarter to bring 215 flats to market in autumn this year.

Work on Cypress Place stalled in the recession when the mortgage market collapsed with the block still in need of internal fit-out.

The mix of one and two-bedroom apartments are now on sale available with prices from £87,500 to £140,000. Parking spaces are offered with selected properties.

Cypress Place was the last of eight blocks Lend Lease, then Crosby Lend Lease, had built in Green Quarter, close to Manchester Victoria Station, NOMA, Manchester Arena and the Printworks. Earlier phases of the 7.8-acre scheme were designed by Manchester-based architects Leach Rhodes Walker with landscaping by Planit. Aedas designed Cypress Place.

The residential market in Manchester city centre has a shortage of available apartments for rent or sale, as the usual churn of people moving out of apartments has ground to a halt due to lack of available finance.
