Latest plans on show for Circle Square
Bruntwood and Select Property Group expect to submit a detailed planning application for another student accommodation block of 384 flats at their joint development in Manchester city centre before Christmas.
The design by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios was displayed at a pre-planning consultation event on Wednesday at the Manchester Technology Centre next to the development site, formerly occupied by the BBC.
The partners are already building the first residential blocks at the large mixed-use scheme between Oxford Road and the River Medlock.
The tower covered in the latest application will rise to 16 storeys and fronts Charles Street, sitting between student and private residential blocks. If approved, it will be the penultimate plot to get detailed consent out of 12 plots in the first phase. The only remaining plot, to the rear of the site next to the technology centre and the river, is being reserved for a commercial occupier prelet.
Vita Student, a Select brand, will operate the student accommodation at Circle Square. Other elements of Circle Square include offices, hotel, car park, and extensive public realm.
Completion is expected in September 2019. Deloitte Real Estate is advising.
