Langtree secures first deal at £35m Hollinwood Junction
Developer Langtree has completed its first deal at the £35m Hollinwood Junction mixed-use development in Oldham, with Euro Garages set to build a £2m petrol filling station at the site.
The filling station and retail unit at the site of the former Roxy Cinema is expected to create 30 jobs, and will start on site spring next year, subject to planning approval. It is understood that a main contractor will be named in the New Year.
The overall Hollinwood Junction site stretches over 30 acres and formerly housed a gasholder. Langtree is working with landowner Oldham Council to build 15 acres of retail, leisure, and employment space, alongside 15 acres of residential development at the site.
Neal Biddle, group development director at Langtree said: “We promised early progress and that’s what we’ve delivered. This is a key gateway to Oldham town centre benefitting from direct access to the M60 and interest is very high among end users. We’ll be announcing more deals in due course.”
Tom Jeremiah, senior planning manager at Euro Garages said “We are really excited to be bringing the first plot forward for development at the former Roxy Cinema site. We will be delivering a high quality development and offer at this vacant site which we hope to open in 2018”.
Langtree was advised on the deal by Colliers International, JLL and FDR Law. Euro Garages was advised by DWF Solicitors.
