HomeSense signs at Arndale
Discount homeware retailer, HomeSense, is to occupy the 12,800 sq ft former Hub unit in Manchester Arndale, opening on Thursday 30 May.
The HomeSense store is located next to TK Maxx, also part of TJX Europe, a subsidiary of TJX Companies.
Ed Sellick, director of retail asset management at Prupim, said: "As retail trade polarises, the pressure is on for retailers to identify locations that offer the best returns and, with an annual footfall of over 41m per annum, Manchester Arndale continues to attract attention from a range of quality retailers.
"Our asset management strategy is geared towards selecting the best retailers to fill the limited space available and these deals are a good indication of the high level of retailer confidence in the centre and reflect Manchester Arndale's dominant position at the heart of retail in Manchester."
Manchester Arndale contains 1.4m sq ft and is owned by Intu Properties and Prupim, the real estate investment management arm of M&G Investments, and is represented by Tushingham Moore and CBRE.
The opening of HomeSense is one of several new leasing deals, including Topshop, Burberry and Dune, for the shopping centre.
That’s a good location, as it’s on the high street and being next to TK Maxx should increase the amount of passing trade.
