Hive hires director from Nexus

Justin Cove has joined Hive Land & Planning as a director.

Previously, Cove spent nearly seven years at Nexus Planning, and at Hive will continue to provide planning consultancy advice, as well as getting involved in some of the other services offered by Hive.

Prior to Nexus, Cove worked at Turley, BNP Paribas Real Estate and DTZ, after starting his career in local government.

Cove said: “I worked on projects with Stuart and Mark when they were at Homes England and so the opportunity to join them at Hive really appealed to me. They’ve made a great start and I hope to help build upon their early success in the coming years and can’t wait to get going.”

Hive launched in March last year, and has a client base which includes eight local authorities, contractor/developers, national housebuilders and landowners. The consultancy is working with Homes England across a number of projects and programmes, and is advising on site acquisitions, Housing Infrastructure Fund bids, and several current and proposed Garden Villages.

Mark Vaughan, Hive co-founder alongside Stuart Sage, added: “We have managed to grow an excellent range of clients and have a considerable and exciting pipeline of work for coming 12 months. Justin will bring a wealth of experience in planning consultancy to broaden and strengthen Hive’s existing offer. He comes with an excellent track record and will add to our commercial offer as we continue to work across the public and private sectors to enable delivery.”
