High-end homes added to Alderley Park

PH Homes has acquired a further plot at Alderley Park from Manchester Science Partnerships, and is set to build 12 four- and five-bedroom homes in an £11m development.

A planning application has been submitted for the homes on the 1.8-acre plot, which was the former location of the estate’s Alderley House, destroyed by a fire in 1931 and replaced with offices used by previous occupier AstraZeneca for research and development.

Other Alderley Park sites being delivered by PH are called The Serpentine, Cedar Square and The Ride. With the recent acquisition, there will be a total of 86 homes at the park, all designed by architect Robert Adam.

The houses are all for sale, at between £795,000 to £1.9m each.

Bellway and PJ Livesey are also delivering houses at Alderley Park.

Phil Hughes, managing director of PH Homes, said: “We are very excited to submit planning for a collection of imposing family homes which will return the seat of Alderley House to residential use. Steeped in history, Alderley Park is being returned to its former glory and we are extremely fortunate to work with one of the UK’s eminent architects Robert Adam to bring our ideas to fruition.

“This development will increase PH Homes portfolio at Alderley Park to 86 luxury homes and cements our position as the region’s foremost luxury housebuilder.”

A planning decision is expected in July.

I’m intrigued by neo-classic architecture such as this. If they do it properly it could turn out great but if they skimp on costs it’ll look tacky.

Another scheme of mini mansions for the North West elite – I would hate to be a young professional trying to buy a home close to my place of work in this area!

Just what Alderley needs to meet it’s severe shortage of million pound properties.

By George I think she's got it.

I like the satanic flourishes……

A pound shop Poundbury. Also… Bellway Homes? Seriously?

Don’t get me wrong, Neo-Classical design is amazing in the right context but this isn’t Knightsbridge,Liverpools Hope St etc etc. Just a load of fields with some fake Neo-Classicism. Like China building a fake White House. Suits the clients I guess, fake and exclusive.
