HCA awards farmland management contracts
Carter Jonas has been reappointed by the Homes & Communities Agencies to manage 3,900 acres of farmland in the North and West Midlands.
The surveyor, which has offices in Kendal, North Wales and Shrewsbury, also won the five-year contract to manage the Central and Southern portfolio of 3,700 acres, previously handled by Berrys.
Carter Jonas identifies land for disposal and development, ensures best practice rural estate management and secures vacant possession of land when it is ready to be sold. Much of the land is still actively farmed and was inherited by the agency from the now defunct New Towns development corporations. Much of the land cannot be developed under current greenbelt laws. Sales of land tend to be to agricultural buyers.
Each of the two contracts is worth up to £375,000 over five years.
