GVA Grimley sells Wigan care home

GVA Grimley's Manchester healthcare team has completed the disposal of Barley Brook in Wigan, a 20-bed residential care home for dementia sufferers, for owner Century Healthcare to purchaser Rosewood Health Care for an undisclosed sum.

GVA said the home generated a significant level of interest and the health care market remains strong despite the wider market gloom.

Samantha Cooper, principal surveyor at GVA Grimley, said: "It was refreshing to work alongside an operator such as Century Healthcare which had such a detailed exit strategy for the home. This meant that historic and current trading information was readily available and ensured that all parties were fully prepared for the disposal process.
