Goostrey homes approved at appeal
The development of 38 homes on a six-acre site spanning the Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester authority boundaries can begin, after HOW Planning secured approval on appeal for access to the plot.
Acting on behalf of Bloor Homes, HOW Planning initially submitted applications to the two neighbouring Cheshire councils for the scheme at New Platt Lane, Goostrey. Detailed planning approval was received from Cheshire West & Chester, while Cheshire East initially refused planning permission, ultimately denying access to the site.
Following the appeal win, Bloor Homes can now start construction, with a 30% affordable housing element included within the scheme.
The brownfield site was previously home to a chicken farm and has fallen into a state of disrepair since operation ceased on site several years ago.
Richard Barton, partner at HOW Planning, said: "Bloor Homes' development will transform what is a redundant site, which at present isn't making any positive contribution to the town, into an attractive residential development. The decision is a sensible one as it was previously holding up what will be valued investment into the Goostrey area."
This development is in Allostock, Cheshire West. NOTGoostrey. But Bloor will sell it as Goostrey to make more money!!
