Go-ahead for Urmston industrial units

Proposals from Invesco Real Estate and Barwood Capital for 82,000 sq ft of logistics accommodation next to Trafford Retail Park have been given approval.

Trafford Council has granted the JV approval for the

The investors submitted plans for the Neary Way scheme last year as part of its plans to build a £300m logistics portfolio.

The JV acquired the four-acre plot next to Trafford Retail Park from Peel L&P last year.

Designed by C4 Projects, the development comprises two buildings offering a total of 11 units. The two buildings are 65,000 sq ft and 18,000 sq ft and the individual units range in size from 2,000 sq ft to 14,300 sq ft.

Satplan is advising on planning and C4 Projects is leading on design.

The site is located next to the 143,000 sq ft Trafford Retail Park, which Peel L&P sold to UK Commercial Property REIT, a client of Abrdn, for £33m in September 2021.

More congestion at the retail park,at peak times it will be gridlocked

By Stephen Rowcroft

You need to sort the traffic infrastructure before you allow any more huge buildings that will generate even more traffic making it an absolute nightmare for local residents

By Karen

You seriously need to sort out the traffic infrastructure at present it’s a nightmare for local residents

By Don

The Neary way roundabout was supposed to have been enlarged to ease congestion when Aldi opened, another broken promise as this never happened and now to the delight of residents the promise of even more congestion as they attempt to access the motorway. Planners couldn’t even organise a one ticket raffle and have no interest in the concerns or welfare of the local community

At the present time it can be extremely difficult crossing Barton Road from the local housing estate, even by car it can, at times, take 5 minutes to leave the estate. It is High time this problem was sorted out BEFORE any thought goes towards extending the retail park !!!!!

Traffic is already an issue, needs attention

Barton Road cannot cope with additional traffic, already overloaded with traffic going to retail park,Trafford Centre and M60.

Too much traffic now, what will it be like after more buildings.Stop.

Sort out the traffic misery of residents first. What idiot thinks it’s a good idea to create even more demand on the already pitiful infrastructure?

By Laura

They may use Rivers Lane to fain further access. Here’s hoping.

What about the CYCLOPS circle we were promised after the consultation taken by Urmston Active Neighbourhood? Deafening silence. It’s hell as a pedestrian trying to cross over Neary Way and an accident waiting to happen.
