Manchester University plans a five-storey building for the school of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science containing pilot plant, academic and research laboratories, teaching and administration facilities, with completion expected by August 2011.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: "We are delighted to secure this range of projects, demonstrating or ability to secure quality work in the health and education sectors."
