Galliford selected for remaining Halton BSF
A consortium including Galliford Try, Hochtief PPP Solutions, Vinci and Liverpool-based design specialist Team a go-go has won the £50m contract to build new schools in Halton.
Galliford Try will build the new merged Wade Deacon and Fairfield school and a second, The Grange, which were approved in August after a review by education secretary Michael Gove of Building Schools for the Future. Eight other schools projects proposed in Halton were cancelled at the time.
It is the latest major public sector work for Galliford Try in the area, having worked on the Halton and St Helens, Knowsley and Warrington Local Improvement Finance Trust projects, delivering new primary care and community health facilities.
Work will begin in April 2011 and completion of construction is expected in May 2013.
