GALLERY | Serendipity Labs launches in Salford
The American-based flex office provider made its UK debut last night, opening its doors for property professionals to explore the latest coworking hotspot.
Located at Exchange Quay in Salford, Serendipity Labs specialises in upscale coworking and shared office space. The brand is part of flexible work expert company NewFlex, which took five floors within Building 7 of Exchange Quay.

Those using the Serendipity Labs facilities also have access to the Exchange Quay campus amenities, including the 94-space cycle hub, an on-site nursery, café, gym, post office, and restaurant.
John Arenas, chief executive of Serendipity Labs, was pleased with the brand’s newest location – which is also its first outside of the US.
“It feels great to see [the space] animated and lived out,” Arenas said. “That’s the point: to get together and find ways to fill it up and animate it and make it vibrant.”
“Taking the entire building gave us a chance to make the building a Serendipity Labs building and make anyone in it feel like they were in a special place, and not just part of a traditional office arrangement.”
Serendipity Labs’ new home was built specifically with coworking and flex offices in mind at a cost of more than £3.5m, according to Les Lang, partner at Till Asset Management, which is the investment manager for the office complex.
“The result – not just in terms of what it looks like, but the way in which it will function – means it will be best in class,” Lang said.
Lang added that he was “blown away” by the Serendipity Labs space.
“I’m delighted with the way in which it’s turned out,” he said. “We think that Exchange Quay is the best office campus in Manchester and we wanted a flex space operation to increase the breadth and depth of what we’re offering here.
“In order to really do that justice, we needed to get best in class in the world. We had a good look around and identified Serendipity Labs.”
