Fujitsu completes sub-let deal with cycling body

British Cycling has taken a short-term lease on offices in one of the IT giant's three buildings at Ask:Goodman's Central Park in east Manchester.

The cycling body, which oversees Olympic athlete training amongst its work, will occupy 9,000 sq ft of the second floor of the vacant 'building C' for around two years while it waits for permanent offices to be built at Sportscity next to the existing velodrome and the forthcoming indoor BMX centre.

In August, Fujitsu announced 1,200 job losses in the UK. The company employs 750 at Central Park and 600 at another site in Crewe. Both sites were believed to be affected in the job cuts, though further details have not been released.

The 175,000 sq ft Fujitsu offices opened as part of the first phase of Central Park in 2005. One of the buildings, containing 54,000 sq ft, was put back on the market after it became surplus to requirements.

Colliers CRE advised Fujitsu.

All parties declined to comment.
