Final Llangollen group hotel sold
Bryn Howel Hotel in Llangollen, North Wales has been sold out of administration by the Manchester office of Colliers International.
Anrai Rose, owned by Eamonn Canavan, an experienced hotelier of 20 years, acquired the restored 19th century house hotel with 35 rooms and 250-capacity ballroom.
Colliers International sold the hotel from a guide price of £1.1m on behalf of joint administrators David Costley-Wood and Brian Green of KPMG, who had been managing the business.
The deal concludes the sale by Colliers International of the four hotels in Llangollen Hotels Group, previously operated by entrepreneur Stephanie Booth and which entered administration in 2011.
Colliers International sold the Wild Pheasant Hotel from a guide price of £2.1m, Bodidris Hall from a guide price of £700,000 and Chainbridge Hotel from a guide price of £500,000.
Neil Thomson, associate director in the hotels division of Colliers International in Manchester, said: "The hotel generated huge amounts of interest when it was placed backed on the market in July 2012 after original negotiations collapsed.
"After a short but extensive marketing campaign a number of offers were received, thereby demonstrating the strength of the market for good quality and profitable assets.
"Eamonn Canavan is delighted with the purchase and plans to invest in the hotel and re-establish its reputation in the marketplace."
