Eric Wright completes Burnley ambulance station
Eric Wright Special Projects has handed over the £1.7m development next to Burnley General Teaching Hospital, designed by DLA Freeman White Architects.
The 5,400 sq ft station replaces the former building on Trafalgar Street, and has been developed by One Partnership, a joint venture between Eric Wright Group and Community Health Partnerships.
The North West Ambulance Service has worked with East Lancashire Hospitals Trust on the scheme, which will meet demand for ambulances and emergencies across the Pennines and Lancashire.
As well as acting as an ambulance station, the building also houses welfare space and a training room.
The completion of the project opens up the former ambulance station located on Dent Row off Trafalgar Street for redevelopment; this will be transformed into a 90-space car park.
