Emery hires consultant

Gareth Salthouse has joined Emery Planning from Emerson Group as consultant.

Salthouse was a senior planner at Oldham Council for seven years where he was involved in a number of large-scale development projects. He left the council in 2013 to become a planner at the Emerson Group, providing strategic advice to the group's main board and successfully promoting sites for redevelopment.

Emery Planning recently advised Emerson Group on its appeal against Cheshire East Council for 95 homes in Alsager, which it won earlier this month. The firm also advised Himor on its Wigan development plans.

The company is based in Macclesfield.
