Eccleston Homes hires to grow portfolio

Following what the housebuilder had called its most successful 12-month period, the Warrington-based company has recruited Mark Fillingham as head of land acquisition to double its output next year from 36 to 72 completed homes.

Fillingham spent the past nine years at United Utilities where he was sales and development manager. Prior to this he was at Elite Homes  while Kevin Marren was chief executive. Marren is now chief executive of Eccleston.

Eccleston has acquired six developments this past year to develop its land bank. These are in Lancaster, Macclesfield, two in Bolton, Ramsbottom and Tyldesley, and all have been submitted for planning consent.

The housebuilder is currently on site at five locations including Worsley Meadows in Worsley; St John’s Garden in Wigan; Bowland View in Grimsargh, Preston; and both Burnage and Chattering Place in Stubbins, Lancashire. St John’s will be available for equity loan and the remaining sites will be privately owned.

Fillingham brings the team to 31 members of staff and he will solely run the land acquisition team, reporting to the operations director. His role means director Alan Dingley can concentrate on technical operations, and Fillingham’s remit is to seek further strategic sites for development and work with local authorities to achieve planning consent.

Marren said: “Mark’s added expertise will now allow us to step up the level of live developments each year to progress towards our next company targets. He brings valuable experience and with his assistance, we anticipate an increased presence of our family homes across the region.”

The company started with one development, Lomax Gardens in Cheadle Hulme, in 2011 and since then has completed The Hamptons in Clayton-le-Woods; Edges Farm in Westhoughton; Meadow View in Rainford and Jubilee Gardens in Ramsbottom.

Two site operators have also been hired. Antonio Saetta has joined as site manager, and Matthew Dingley is assistant site manager. Both will be based at Eccleston’s largest site, St John’s Gardens, in Wigan.
