East Meets West in Urban Vision RHS win
Urban Vision, the joint venture company between Salford City Council, Capita Symonds and Morrison Highways Maintenance, has seen its landscape design group strike gold at the Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show at Tatton Park.
The group's garden, East Meets West, took one of only two gold medals awarded at the show, after winning the Show Garden category.
East Meets West combined a combination of hard and soft landscape elements inspired by gardens from both Eastern and Western cultures.
The garden was designed and created by Urban Vision, together with one of Salford City Council's partner landscape contractors, the Casey Group of Companies.
The Urban Vision have previously been rewarded for their talents at the Tatton show, having won a Silver Gilt medal from the RHS for its first ever show garden, The Garden of Illusion, in 2001, and a gold medal for A Healthy Future – England's North West, in 2006.
Andy Stockton, project manager and group leader of landscape and urban design at Urban Vision said: "The response from the judges, RHS members and the general public has been phenomenal. Whilst the group normally works on much larger projects, the profile of our work and the talent of our designers have been raised enormously."
