Deal struck for Carrington
Carrington Plains, a 38-acre development site in south Manchester, has been sold to the National Grid.
The electricity distributor, which partly occupies the site, bought it from adminsitrators at the accountancy firm BDO.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Agents Cushman and Wakefield said the site, near the M60, had development potential for a number of uses including renewable energy.
Jason Print, C&W partner, said: "Carrington Plains presented an excellent opportunity to acquire a prime piece of land with great development potential in an established commercial location.
"We had a lot of interest in the site from a number of potential purchasers and are pleased to have been able to complete a deal less than seven months since our appointment as sole agents."
