CWAC begins hunt for rural leadership
Cheshire West & Chester Council is advertising for a "dynamic leader" to head a new Rural Regeneration Board.
The person recruited will chair a board of up to 11 members who representing rural businesses and residents. The rural area of Cheshire West & Chester represents approximately 85% of the total land area of the borough and 40% of the population.
The council said: "It is likely the post of chairman will be filled by someone from the private sector who has leadership experience at chair or board level within high profile organisations.
"He or she and the board members will develop strong alliances and working relationships with a range of stakeholders in public, private and voluntary sectors."
Council leader, Cllr Mike Jones, said: "This new board will play an important role in looking in depth at the very heart beat of our rural communities and aims to widen business expertise, looking for new opportunities for trade and investment which may lead to new jobs for its residents.
"But that is only part of its remit because its challenging agenda will include improving services by working with people, Parish Councils and organisations across the rural area and understanding the challenges faced by our rural communities."
The closing date is Friday 11 May. Applicants can email CVs together with a short statement to Christopher.capes@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk or call 07827 954025 or 01244 973164.
