Cowgills makes Bolton head office switch

The accounting firm is bidding adieu to the Georgian buildings of Regency House and hello to the 21st-century Parklands 5B.

Cowgills will take over the fourth floor of the Emerson Group-owned Parklands 5B in Middlebrook. The company will occupy 10,000 sq ft in a deal negotiated by OBI. In Cowgills’ new headquarters, the company will have Keoghs, AO.com, and AXA Insurance as neighbours.

Cowgills managing partner Paul Stringer pointed out that the company is still in the borough of Bolton, which is where the company was founded 40 years ago.

“Investing in the very best facilities is a huge priority for us and Parklands provides us with everything we need, including a state-of-the-art working environment and bright, open, flexible workspace,” Stringer said.

“Being located at Middlebrook also provides colleagues with plenty of amenities very close by and easy travel links across the region.”

Regarding the easy travel links, Parklands 5B is next to Junction 6 of the M61 and within 10-minutes walk of the Horwich Parkway train station.

In addition to its new space at Parklands 5B, Cowgills has offices off Quay Street in Manchester, in the Cotton Exchange in Liverpool, and at Riverside Business Park in West Yorkshire’s Ilkley. The accounting firm has also maintained a smaller office off Chorley New Road in Bolton, which is where its small business and outsourcing brand CHW will operate.

Stringer said: “Opening our new HQ at Parklands means we now have four superb offices across key northern cities and can provide a full service to clients regardless of where they are based across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.”

The Emerson Group has plans to expand its Parklands business park further, having submitted an application to construct 40,000 sq ft of commercial space in May last year.
