Council urges motorists to use park and ride

Cheshire West & Chester Council is urging motorists travelling to Chester to use the city's Park and Ride system during the day for the rest of this week because of the closure of two car parks.

The council said its Little Roodee car park is closed all week because of an annual fair taking place in the city and the Northgate car park will also be closed during the evening on 5 May and all day on 6 May, due to the count taking place at the Northgate Arena for its local elections.

The council added that Chester will also be busy for the rest of this week because of the races taking place Chester Racecourse on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
