Contractor picked for £37m One Heritage scheme

Leeds-based Torsion Construction has been appointed to deliver the developer’s 129-home Manchester project, with work due to begin in December after the city council handed down a formal decision notice for the scheme.

One Heritage hopes the two-block One Victoria, located on Great Ducie Street, could complete by Q3 in 2024.

Maryland Securities lodged plans for the £37m Manchester project in 2019 and One Heritage acquired the site earlier this year.

The development would comprise two buildings of 10 and 13 storeys, fronting Mirabel Street and Great Ducie Street respectively.

The apartments are to be a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties and the development will also feature 3,500 sq ft of commercial space across two units and a 2,500 sq ft roof terrace.

Designed by Hodder+Partners, One Victoria is located around the corner from the site of another One Heritage scheme, the company’s 55-storey eponymous tower.

The developer has entered into a PCSA with Midgard to deliver the Greengate project, as reported by Place North West last year.

Like One Victoria, One Heritage also aims to start building the tower in the fourth quarter of this year.

The project would take four years to complete, according to One Heritage’s website.

Four years that seems a bit long

At long last. One of the most inspired designs to emerge in the city in recent years. Looking forward to seeing it built.

Anonymous it means 4 years for the One Heritage 55 story tower.
This will only take 2.

Four years.. Surely that’s time enough for 65 storeys. Why skimp? This IS Mcr.

One Heritage tower looks like a great design. Can’t wait to get it started. Together with The Blade and The 360 it should mark something different for all the talls in Manchester.

Am I missing something?
Isn’t this one heritage supposed to be a 55 storey tower not a 9 storey bloc?

Hi ZiffZaff – two different projects. The skyscraper is in Salford. Hope this helps! – J
