Contractor named for Ropewalks resi

Liverpool building firm Crossfield Construction has been appointed to deliver the £4m Chavasse Building, a 47-apartment scheme in the city’s Ropewalks area, which has now secured planning approval.

The build phase is expected to take around 12 months, said developer Living Brick, which is working with a design team comprising Day Architectural and Shape Engineering.

Situated at the corner of Lydia Ann Street and Suffolk Street, the Chavasse Building will include a residents’ gymnasium and a Japanese-inspired rooftop garden. The apartments are divided between 20 ‘micro’ apartments of around 365 sq ft, 18 one bedroom apartments averaging 538 sq ft and two-bedroom flats of around 800 sq ft.

Kevin Doran, managing director for Living Brick, said: “We are delighted to have received planning for the Chavasse Building. We truly believe we are offering a unique proposition to the residential city centre living market, and by instructing some of the city’s most respected construction partners in Crossfield, Day and Shape, we really look forward to watching our development come to life over the coming months.”

David Cain, director at Crossfield Construction added: “We are really looking forward to constructing this exciting development for Living Brick in one of the Cities most historic locations. We look forward to a collaborative partnership to deliver exceptional new living environments whilst positively impacting the surrounding community.”
