Consent for Done’s latest Salford PRS project
A planning application for 399 homes from Bet Fred billionaire Fred Done’s property company on the site of the former Black Horse Hotel in Salford has been approved by the council’s planning committee.
Known as The Crescent, the development by Property (Done) Limited will deliver 153 one-bedroom and 248 two-bedroom apartments over three buildings, the tallest of which will be 22 storeys. There will also be four townhouses. The scheme includes car parking, landscaping and 8,890 sq ft of commercial space.
Euan Kellie Property Solutions is advising on The Crescent, which was designed by 5plus Architects. The project is the sister scheme to Done’s 380-unit Trinity Way PRS development which was approved in March 2015.
The properties will be marketed at the private rented sector, and the scheme will be owned and managed by the developer.
It is envisaged work will begin on site later this year and building work will take approximately 36 months.
At the same planning meeting on Thursday 7 April, the details surrounding the next stage of development at Salford Community Stadium’s Liverpool Road site were also signed-off.
Outline planning permission granted in 2011 for the phased development of a 20,000 capacity sports stadium, which is currently under construction, and a retail scheme to sit alongside.
