City council starts procurement for £15m repairs programme

Manchester City Council has started the race for a four-year planned and preventative maintenance package that could be worth up to £15m.

The council is looking to recruit a contractor to carry out planned and reactive repair and maintenance works across its estate, including demolition, brickwork, plumbing, repair work, and landscape maintenance.

The three-year framework is due to start on 1 August 2018, and run for three years with an option of an additional year.

Each individual works package awarded through the framework has a maximum value of £75,000, and the framework has a maximum total value of £15m.

The tender process has been issued via OJEU and The Chest, with a deadline for tender submissions of 6 December this year. A winning contractor is expected to be named in March next year.
