Cinema to expand at Stockport’s Redrock
The Light will take an additional 4,400 sq ft to open two additional screens at the leisure-led development in the town centre.
The cinema has proved to be a success since opening in late 2017 and operates 10 screens with a total of 914 seats.
It has now put forward plans to open a further two screens in a neighbouring unit, adding 4,400 sq ft to the cinema. The two screens will house 127 seats, while the space fronting on to the public space opposite the Merseyway will be set aside for a café featuring an outdoor seating area.
Other tenants at the 75,000 sq ft leisure development, designed by architect BDP and delivered by Wates, include The Gym, Zizzi, Pizza Express, Mangobean, and Berretto Lounge.
Following The Light’s expansion, only one unit of 4,600 sq ft will remain available at Redrock. Barker Proudlove and Lunson Mitchenall are the retained agents.
