CHF Entertainment moves into The Towers
Canning O'Neill acted on behalf of Quorum Estates in securing CHF Entertainment as a tenant for 5,000 sq ft of space at The Towers, a 19th century mansion on the Towers Business Park near Didsbury, Manchester.
CHF Entertainment is the animation company formed to continue the work of Cosgrove Hall, the Manchester company behind classic children's television series including Danger Mouse and Chorlton & The Wheelies.
Simon Hall, managing director of CHF Entertainment and the son of late Cosgrove Hall founder Mark Hall, said: "The original Cosgrove Hall was based in Chorlton-cum-Hardy near Didsbury so the region is an intrinsic part of our heritage.
"In addition, we have a terrific pool of talent on our doorstep, especially since the BBC has relocated into MediaCityUK, giving us access to world class creative people. We also have the pick of young up and coming talent from the universities."
James Dickinson, director at Canning O'Neill, said: "CHF taking occupation at The Towers is exciting news for the local area, creating job opportunities and bringing them back to Manchester where the story all began.
"Creative businesses are seeing a real benefit in being located in Manchester, with MediaCityUK on the doorstop, it is fast becoming the location for the media, TV and entertainment industry."
CHF Entertainment already has a number of high profile programmes lined up, including Pip! and HeroGliffix, which will go into full production shortly.
In addition to the company's headquarters in Manchester, the company also has offices in London and New York and currently employs 36 people.
The Towers was once called the grandest of all the Manchester Mansions by architectural historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner.
It was designed by Thomas Worthington, architect of the Albert Memorial in Albert Square, Manchester, and was popularly known as the Calendar Building since it was said to have 12 towers, 52 rooms and 365 windows.
