Capital Life reborn as Solid Ground

The former marketing team at Capital Properties, known as Capital Life, have launched marketing and events agency Solid Ground, specialising in placemaking strategies for property clients.

The team, led by managing director Libby Witherden and operations director Colette Brown, already has a number of clients on board, including Muse Developments for New Bailey in Salford and CityPlace in Chester; Helical Bar for Churchgate & Lee; and Worthington Developments for 125 Deansgate in Manchester.

Based in Churchgate House in Manchester city centre, Solid Ground will offer a mix of creative placemaking, marketing, events and commercialisation.

In April it was announced that Capital Properties, best known for animating Allied London’s Spinningfields estate, would return to its core business of managing buildings, and Capital Life, the events and marketing arm, ceased to operate. The management of Spinningfields was taken in-house by Allied London. A new management team was put in place for Capital Properties, led by managing director Craig Sackfield, reporting to Allied London chief operating officer Suresh Gorasia.

Libby Witherden said: “We have a wealth of experience in the team and so setting up Solid Ground felt like an obvious next step for us. We’re looking forward to some really exciting projects and events with our clients over the next six months, and have ambitions for a slow but steady growth of our portfolio as we start to establish ourselves in the marketplace.”
