Capital & Centric poaches CBRE high-flyer
Michelle Rothwell, senior surveyor in office agency at CBRE Manchester, is set to join developer Capital & Centric as development manager.
She is currently serving her notice period at CBRE and will leave in January. Rothwell joined CBRE as a graduate in 2010 and moved into the office agency team after completing her two-year training cycle. She was promoted to senior surveyor in April 2014, with a client list that includes Peel and Bruntwood. Before CBRE she had placements at DTZ, Hynes & Co and Bailey Deakin & Hamiltons.
Tim Heatley, director and co-founder, said: "As the market is picking up, we need more people to help us deliver. Michelle has a brilliant knowledge of Manchester city centre and great contacts, which will be invaluable as we focus on more projects in and around town. Her office agency background also adds a different dimension, as that is not an area of expertise currently covered within our team."
Capital & Centric is on site with speculative offices at 12 Tithebarn Street and the former Littlewoods site in Liverpool. In March 2014, the company was named preferred bidder for MMU's Aytoun Street site in Manchester jointly with developer Henry Boot.
Rothwell is also a shareholder in her family's business, Roundhouse Properties, which was founded by her mother Janet Lefton and is headquartered in Preston. Lefton and her brother Brian Scowcroft made £150m from the sale of Swinton Insurance. Roundhouse is a developer and investor with a mixed-use portfolio across the North West.
Rothwell was unavailable to comment.
