Britannia buys in Trafford Park

Britannia Hotel Group has bought a 50,000 sq ft industrial unit in Tenax Road, Trafford Park, from joint administrators at Deloitte, for in excess of £2m.

Bilfinger GVA’s industrial and distribution team advised Deloitte throughout the insolvency process and secured the freehold sale.

The unit, which was formerly occupied by Paperlinx, is on a 2.76-acre site, and is made up of a 40,113 sq ft warehouse and two floors of offices totalling 10,110sqft.

Bilfinger GVA’s restructuring and recovery team also acted on the sale.

Britannia owns and operate 50 hotels across the country, and is currently in the process of selling the London Road Fire Station in Manchester city centre.

Ruth Leighton, associate at Bilfinger GVA, said: “The Trafford Park property generated very strong interest, particularly from the owner-occupier sector, which culminated in an informal tender process, clearly underpinning the strength of the Trafford Park market.

“This freehold transaction signifies the growing market demand for industrial accommodation and the significant lack of supply of quality space in Greater Manchester.”
