Bolton switches on lighting project
A £170,000 lighting scheme funded by the council has permanently illuminated several of the town's architectural gems.
The project will illuminate the Grade II*-listed Victorian Town Hall and its 61m clock tower, the war memorial in Victoria Square and Le Mans Crescent.
The energy efficient lighting scheme was designed by Sutton Vane architects. The lighting cabling is hidden from public view and a computer-controlled system will turn the lights on and off automatically. The lights will be switched on at dusk and turned off at midnight.
The annual running costs are estimated at £3,500.
