BCM partners with Liverpool John Moores
Manchester-based engineering consultancy Beverley Clifton Morris has joined with Liverpool John Moores University in a two-year knowledge transfer partnership.
The agreement will provide the funds for BCM to create two new positions in the company's head office in Manchester, a marketing strategy manager and a quantity surveyor.
The new hires will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of LJMU academics in cost management and digital marketing.
BCM specialises in low carbon building services design, and works with architects and contractors to ensure new and refurbished buildings are carbon and energy efficient.
Knowledge transfer partnerships are a part government-funded programme to encourage collaboration between businesses and universities. KTP is funded by the Technology Strategy Board.
Brian Morris, managing director of BCM's, said: "The KTP is a substantial part of our strategic expansion plans and will enable us to develop our skills and bring new cost saving services to the market. It will also assist us in identifying specific processes and operating practices that will keep us at the forefront of our industry. Having worked predominantly across the North West since forming in 2002, we now aim to expand our reach across the UK and are confident that this KTP will enable us to do so."
