Barratt sells Wrexham shopping centre

Troubled housebuilder Barratt Developments has exchanged contracts with La Salle Investment Management for the sale of Eagles Meadow shopping centre in Wrexham, for £79m, acquired as part of Wilson Bowden in 2007.

The company said it expects to raise a further £30m from the sale of 9.5 acres of land for a supermarket development in Chesterfield, and Atlantic Quay 4, a completed office development in Glasgow.

Barratt has always maintained that its massive Kingsway business park in Rochdale will be retained after the current disposal programme.

Barratt bought Wilson Bowden at the top of the market in February 2007, for £2.2bn.
