Arena names contractors on three-year framework
Social landlord Arena Housing Group has announced its maintenance and refurbishment contractors for the next three years.
Arena, which manages more than 14, 000 homes throughout the North West, has appointed two local companies in a combined contract worth £12m, with the option of a further £4m in year four.
Existing supplier, TF Jones Property Services from St Helens, is joined by new contractor, Salford-based DLP Services (Northern). Both contracts will help to secure employment for more than 150 local people.
Bob Marais, chair of the maintenance committee and resident board member, explained: "The selection process has been long and arduous, focusing on three primary areas: quality and performance, delivery and cost effectiveness. Thirty companies expressed an interest in the initial stages and 12 have worked through the entire process with us. The two that were eventually selected were chosen unanimously."
Neal Roberts, Arena Housing Group director of property services, said: "Whilst not the first time that residents have worked with us in this process they have played a key role in steering the contractor selection procedure and this represents a significant step change in resident engagement."
Arena Housing Group was formed in October 2006, and incorporates Arena Homes, Arena Options, Leasowe Community Homes, Tung Sing Housing Association, Headrow Housing and Arena Future.
