Alderley nightclub to make way for resi development
A dozen flat-roofed four-bed bungalows will be built in green belt between Alderley Edge and Wilmslow on the site of the former Yesterdays nightclub which closed 12 years ago.
The designs by Calderpeel aim to minimise the impact on the surrounding area and will feature green roofs. The houses will be built around a lake and accessed off Harden Park Road.
An earlier application for a 68-bed hotel was withdrawn. Acting on behalf of Intro Developments, a company related to MCR Property Group, HOW submitted a full planning application to Cheshire East Council to demolish the existing nightclub building and build up to 12 new homes on the four-acre site. The plans were unanimously approved by Cheshire East Council.
Richard Woodford, partner at HOW Planning, said: “The Yesterdays nightclub site has been vacant for many years and is now a derelict, unsightly piece of land situated in the green belt. Our client’s vision will transform the site and create a stunning new contemporary residential development for Alderley Edge.”
The application includes four affordable dwellings, and each of the 12 has parking, gardens and landscaping by Barnes Walker, landscape architect.
