Ainscough appoints CEO, managing director

Rachael Ainscough has been promoted to chief executive at the Leigh-based land promoter, while David O’Reilly has taken her old position of managing director.

O’Reilly was previously the land director at Ainscough Strategic Land, having joined the company less than three years before from Story Homes.

“David’s promotion is well-earned and will give him responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business and the delivery of each of our contracted land promotion agreements,” Ainscough said.

“This will give me room as chief executive to take more of a strategic role for the development of the business.”

Ainscough added that the company is busy, with six new sites in legals and another six expected to be in that phase before the end of the year. ASL recently completed its largest land transaction as well, selling a plot of land at Lotmead Farm in Wiltshire to housebuilder Countryside and housing association Sovereign. The land has consent for 2,500 homes.

“We want to continue on our growth trajectory and capitalise on what remains a strong market,” Ainscough said. “These changes will help us to do just that.”

O’Reilly commented: “I joined ASL just under 3 years ago and the ASL business has achieved a great deal during that time. We have expanded our technical and commercial expertise, have worked hard to maintain and grow our reputation with landowners and agents, exchanged and completed a number of land sales and have a number of sites about to be submitted for planning.

“ASL is in a great place and I’m delighted to be promoted to oversee its continued success. The commitment and dedication of the team in the business is exemplary.”
