Green light for Riverside’s Liverpool homes
The Speke-based housing association will progress plans to build 48 homes on derelict brownfield land off Laurel Road in Fairfield after securing consent from Liverpool City Council.
The project comprises 16 one- and two-bedroom apartments, 15 two-bedroom, 12 three-bedroom and five four-bedroom houses. A car park with 58 spaces would also be created.
The two-acre site houses an industrial unit, previously occupied by G&L Frozen Foods before the firm was dissolved in 2018, which will be demolished as part of the development.
DK architects has designed the scheme and Savills is planning consultant. The project team also includes Vectos as transport consultant and Sutcliffes as structural engineer.
Riverside is also heading up the £20m project to regenerate two Runcorn estates – Palace Fields and Hallwood Park.
Place North West reported in 2019 that Riverside was searching for a location for a larger headquarters close to its current head office at Estuary Commerce Park. However, a spokesperson for the firm said there had since been “no movement” on these plans.
It’s a shame that people from community who were high priorty couldn’t get one
