Pochin’s adds to Crewe holdings
The Cheshire property company has expanded its holdings within Crewe Business Park with the acquisition of a vacant office and development plot, and has revealed plans for a 30,000 sq ft building for occupier Radius on the site.
Pochin’s has acquired Europa House, a 10,000 sq ft office, alongside the last 1.8-acre undeveloped plot at the park at Arden Square. The developer contractor has bought the leasehold, while Cheshire East Council holds the freehold.
Although designs have been drawn up that are adaptable to future uses, the site is being lined up for a 32,800 sq ft building for Radius Payment Solutions, the global fuel cards business. The building will be three storeys high, in keeping with the pavilion style prevalent on the park, in a broad v-shape set back from Arden Square at the rear of the site.
Pochin’s has already taken forward a 66,000 sq ft headquarters building for the business a few minutes’ walk from Arden Square, fronting Electra Way. Both buildings are a few minutes’ drive from the Radius building at Herald Park, reflecting the business’ desire to keep disruption for staff to a minimum.
As with the Electra Way building, Pochin’s has engaged architect AEW on the Arden Square building. Vector Design Concepts has worked on the landscaping for the proposal.
Bob Nicholson, Pochin’s director, said: “Pochin’s has been a long-term investor in Crewe Business Park and we’re proud to be able to take on the mantle of delivering the final new project on the site.
“We’ve submitted a planning application for a 30,000 sq ft development which we expect to garner strong interest, and we will be working closely with Cheshire East Council to ensure the future occupant adds positively to the park and is of a calibre befitting its completion.”
