Revere signs for Old Town Hall
Revere Pub Company, the premium brand of listed pub operator Marston’s, is to open a 9,000 sq ft restaurant and bar at Knutsford Town Hall in summer 2016.
The £2m renovation of the grade 2-listed Old Town Hall has been designed by Doncaster-based BGW Design Studio and will include extensive outdoor seating.
Landlord Monckton Properties, part of the Tatton Estate, invested £500,000 to pay for repairs to the iconic building as part of the deal to secure Revere.
Revere has a track record of transforming similar buildings, such as the former Stock Exchange in Birmingham.
Knutsford Town Hall, at the end of Princess Street, was created by architect Alfred Waterhouse who designed Manchester Town Hall and the Natural History Museum, Kensington.
The building was financed by the Egerton family of Tatton Hall and its last use under the Egerton family was as a boy’s club. For the past two years the Old Town Hall has been home to the successful Knutsford Beer Festival. Monckton Properties provided the venue free of charge.
