Promotion for BoS’s Devenport

Bank of Scotland Corporate has promoted Paul Devenport, the director of its Manchester office, to area director for its real estate business.

Reporting in to Derek Bald, head of real estate for North of England, Paul and his 16-strong team will be based at the bank's offices in Castle Street before shortly relocating to new premises at No 5 St Paul's Square in the heart of Liverpool's commercial district.

Manchester's real estate team has recently completed a string of high value deals including the £16m purchase of 76 King Street in Manchester for Liverpool-based UK Land & Property; a £200m funding line for Spencer Holdings; and funding for the £63m redevelopment of two sites for Plas Madoc Group in North Wales.

Devenport originally joined the BoS as an associate director in 2001, and since then has worked in a a variety of roles across both the commercial and real estate business.

He said: "I'm delighted to be leading BoS Corporate's Real Estate team in Liverpool. The business has already made significant inroads into the area's commercial property market by establishing good relationships with some of the area's key property developers. We now have the opportunity to build upon these foundations by increasing the pipeline of deals coming through to us. It is my belief that we can establish BoS as the bank of first choice for all major property developers in Liverpool."
