Helical Governetz linked with Kingsway quango campus

Commercial developer Wilson Bowden is in talks with public sector premises specialist Helical Governetz over a 600,000 sq ft office park at Kingsway in Rochdale.

Helical Governetz is assembling sites around the country to house government bodies leaving London following the recommendations of the Lyons Review.

The developer is said to be discussing a land acquisition from Wilson Bowden. The Kingsway scheme is not part of Barratt's plans for breaking up Wilson Bowden, which it acquired last year in a deal that left it with £2bn of debt.

Helical Governetz is said to be looking at other sites in Newport, Keele and Waverley, near Sheffield.

P3 Property Consultants and Jones Lang LaSalle are appointed agents on the 420-acre Kingsway business park.
