Threadneedle progresses with Salford retail park revamp

Threadneedle Property Investments said it hopes to have a refurbishment of its Red Rose Retail Park on Regent Road in Salford completed within the next 12 months.

Threadneedle obtained planning consent this month for a new right turn across Regent Road, one of Manchester's busiest arterial roads, which is considered by Threadneedle to be the catalyst for a comprehensive refurbishment of the scheme.

The existing scheme extends to 45,500 sq ft in three separate blocks totalling six individual units.

The refurbishment will include recladding of the existing units, new signage, lighting, resurfacing of the car park, and a new filter lane from Manchester-bound traffic.

Tim Kenney, from Kenneymoore Property Consultants, retained agents on the scheme with Cheetham & Mortimer, said: "We are in discussion with existing tenants, but hope to have new retail space available with full A1 retail consent in a range of units from 3,600 sq ft to 14,500 sq ft hopefully available before the end of this year."

Kenney added that there are two empty units at present. Current tenants at the Red Rose Retail Park include Al Murad Tiles, Topps Tiles and PMT Music.
