Hynes appointed on Weaver Square

Charted surveyor Hynes & Co has been instructed by joint Law of Property Act Receiver Colliers International to market space in the shopping centre in Northwich.

The 66,000 sq ft shopping centre in Cheshire entered receivership in July 2012. Hynes & Co said it is in negotiations with an unnamed national retailer for a unit at the centre.

Richard Crompton, director of corporate restructuring at the Manchester office of Colliers, said: "Detailed negotiations are underway with a retailer and we hope an announcement can be made before Christmas."

Crompton confirmed that several events would be staged at Weaver Square prior to Christmas, including the switch-on of the festive lights on Friday 30 November.

Andrew Hynes, letting agent on Weaver Square for Hynes & Co, said: "Northwich is a vibrant town with a wealthy and loyal catchment in the heart of Cheshire.

"The scheme benefits from free parking and provides a semi-covered shopping environment within the prime retail pitch of the town centre.

"Northwich is already well anchored by Marks & Spencer and other retailers such as Boots, WHSmith and Quality Save."
