Sustainable appoints new finance manager

Simon Bissell has joined Skelmersdale-based building contractor Sustainable Group UK as group finance manager from the green energy group formerly known as Eaga.

Bissell is an associate member of the Charted Institute of Management Accountants and has spent the last nine years in the construction industry.

He has previously held a number of senior posts in the wholesale, retail and manufacturing industries.

Bissell most recently worked for Eaga, which was subsequently acquired by Carillion Energy Services. Bissell left the company in December 2012 to take up his new post.

In his new role, Bissell will be working with the management team through its next stage of development and diversification.

The group's principal business, Sustainable Building Services, grew by approximately £8m last year.

Bissell said: "The company is enjoying an impressive rate of growth, so one of my first tasks will be to further develop its financial protocols in order to continue to strengthen our corporate governance.

"With the advent of government initiatives such as ECO and the Green Deal, we're also entering an important period of change, so I'll be ensuring that our financial systems are as robust and transparent as possible."
