Wind-Tech roadshow starts next week
University of Central Lancashire will offer free advice at a series of workshops in June around the North West aimed at contractors and consultants involved in connecting small wind turbines to the electricity grid.
The workshops, organised by UCLan's Wind-Tech project, will be delivered by Geoff Owen, a grid connection engineer with over 30 years' experience of working in the grid connection industry, previously based with United Utilities, Scottish Power, Central Networks and Envirolink.
David Ainsworth, project administrator for Wind-Tech, said: "Establishing electricity grid connections for any renewable energy installation can be easy or difficult. This workshop provides the knowledge to avoid mistakes, unforeseen costs and achieve successful outcomes and is suitable for installers, consultants, developers, designers, and anyone interested in grid connection projects up to 50 kW. The workshop is free to small to medium sized enterprises based in the North West. An eligible SME will have no more than 250 employees and a turnover under €50m.
