New MD for Ring Stones

Burnley-based firm Ring Stones Maintenance & Construction has appointed Mark Cutler as managing director.

Cutler joins from social housing contractor Forrest where he was commercial director. He previously worked at Gleeson Homes and Carillion.

Cutler took over as managing director from Jon Rukin, who left Ring Stones to become a director at Kier Living.

Ring Stones is a 10-year joint venture between Forrest and housing association Calico Homes. The company began trading in 2013 and reported a turnover of £6.5m during its first full year.

The firm specialises in work for housing associations and currently employs 35 staff.

Anthony Duerden, chief executive of Calico Homes, said: "Mark is one the region's most experienced operators and has played a key role in Forrest's recent growth and success. He brings with him a wealth of expertise across each of our key service lines in refurbishment and new build activity and is the ideal candidate to lead the delivery of our long-term strategy."

New MD Cutler said: "Ring Stones has had remarkable first year in which it has proved that its innovative model can deliver on ambitious commercial targets while also making a real difference to skills, training and investment in its local community."
