VIDEO | UCLan details £200m masterplan
The University of Central Lancashire has released a CGI fly-through video and new artist’s impressions of its £200m campus masterplan which will be delivered in Preston over the next 10 years.
The video demonstrates how the redevelopment will integrate with the city of Preston as the early stages of the project begin to take shape.
UCLan is currently on site with the first major project, the demolition of the 1960s Fylde Building to make way for a multi-million pound student support facility, forming part of a new gateway to the University.
The scheme will include a remodelled Adelphi roundabout with the construction of a public square, drawing together the university with the city.
Bradley Demolition is carrying out the deconstruction of the Fylde Building, with the majority of the materials being recycled. BDP designed the scheme.

The next phase of the project is the construction of a £30m Engineering Innovation Centre due to be completed in the spring of 2018. The EIC has been identified as a signature project within the Government’s Growth Deal programme and was awarded £10.5m via the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership. BDP is advising on engineering while SimpsonHaugh & Partners is the architect.
