Tritax Symmetry appoints associate planning director
Pete Whittingham joins the company as it looks to bolster operations across the North.
He will work with planning director Matt Claxton at the logistics developer’s Manchester office.
Whittingham joins from Savills where he has spent more than a decade.
During that time he worked on major commercial development projects from initial appraisals, through to gaining planning permissions.
Tritax is enjoying a busy time for projects in the region.
Having bought a 221-acre site in Parkside East, in St Helens last year, the firm is moving ahead with plans for a 2.5m sq ft strategic rail freight interchange project.
Tritax is also delivering the Symmetry Park in Knowsley, Merseyside, that will see the development of a 900,000 sq ft industrial and logistics park.
Dave Travis, who heads up the Manchester office, said: “With major projects coming forward at various stages of the planning and development process and a huge appetite for further acquisitions across the portfolio, we require exceptional talent at every stage to ensure their delivery.
“Pete has a strong track record working in this sector and is the perfect fit for our growing organisation.”
Whittingham added: “Having worked in consultancy for many years, this new role will now give me the opportunity to immerse myself fully in, what I believe, are some of the most exciting planning projects coming forward across the North.”
So big sheds are “the most exciting planning projects coming forward across the North” apparently. Sure.
